A historic moment for every Indian after the triumphant landing of their spacecraft Chandrayaan-3 on the moon becoming the fourth country in the world to successfully land on the moon joining United States, China and the former Soviet Union.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi rejoiced and waved a small Indian flag as Chandrayaan-3 became the first spacecraft to touch down the moon’s south polar region shortly after 8:30 a.m. ET Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
In his speech to the Indian Space Research Organisation, Modi said: “This is the heartbeat of 1.4 billion people. This is the new India, the new beginning, the new thinking of the new efforts. “
Before the successful India’s landing, Russia had a failed attempt in August 19 after their Luna-25 spacecraft crashed into the moon.
