Manitoba Filipino Street Festival returns this weekend

After a scaled-down event last year because of the pandemic,  the Manitoba Filipino Street Festival  (MFSF)  returns to the street  with its hundreds of participating organizations  in full-force  this weekend!

Happening  June 18 and 19,  2022  at the Maples Community Centre Multiplex grounds (434 Adsum Dr.),   the two day festivity will  showcase culture, music,  dances.  food and colorful costumes and booths  of  different regions in the Philippines as  the community  celebrate diversity, culture, tradition and heritage.  Unlike the previos years, there will be no parade this year.

Now on its 11th year,  the  annual  huge event that attracts thousands  will feature world-class  local talents perfoming on stage.  There will be 100 cultural tents by participating groups  and local businesses  and over 26 food trucks.  This year, there will also be  non-Filipino organizations  that  will  participate and will perform.   Another highlight of the MFSF  is  the much-awaited  coronation of the Queen Bulilit and Prinsesa ng  MFSF.

A grand fireworks show will top-off  the first day at 10:30 pm on June 18.  There will also be an interactive chess match,  bouncing castles, Zumba and a lot more.  Event will run from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on June 18, and 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 19.  During the first day, Chester Pangan will broadcast live from the 92.7 Tent.  Listeners are encouraged to drop by the booth to fill out raffle forms to win amazing prizes to be drawn  the following Monday.
