Fastfood giant McDonald’s is the latest multinational company to announce pausing of business in Russia to protest the country’s invasion of Ukraine.
On Tuesday, the company says it will temporarily close its more than 800 restaurants and pause all operations in Russia but will continue to pay salaries of the 62,000 Russian employees who will be affected by the closure.
Starbucks. Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants, Pizza Huts, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, General Electric are among the global brands that also announced temporary or partial shutting down of business in Russia.
Apple, Netflix, TikTok, and Facebook’s parent company, Meta also responded to the crisis by pausing their projects or services.
Meanwhile, Disney, Warner Bros and other Holyywood studios also released statement that they willl pause theatrical releases in Russia.
