The annual holiday light festival at the Red River Ex grounds is ready to go this weekend after it was put on hold in November when public health restrictions were imposed due to rising COVID-19 cases.
As restrictions were loosened this week, Winter Wonderland, will have its tradtional drive-through light attractions minus some parts like ice-skating or photo area. There will no be no available washrooms too as visitors will be prohibited from getting off their vehicles.
Red River Ex CEO Garth Rogerson said that this is good news as this is their groups’ major fundraiser. The non-profit group does not get government funding and still need income to survive amid pandemic.
The light show that starts Dec 12 will have a possibility to be extended depending on the public response according to press release.
