Hundreds lined the streets in the Maples Neighborhood Saturday for the seventh annual Manitoba Filipino Street Festival parade.
The parade featured dozens of floats, which included our CKJS 810 Cruiser and organizations which paraded down Jefferson Avenue to Adsum Drive and gathered at the Maples Community Centre which was the centre of the celebration.
CKJS Announcers Maui Zamora (and co-pilot son Ace) paraded our CKJS vehicle as Lucille Nolasco and Donna Natividad-Arenas (with friends Antonette and Joyce) waved hellos as they walked down the street on their cultural attire.
Chester Pangan did a remote broadcast at the Vickar Automotive Group booth.

Lucille was stunning as she spread sunshine in this year’s MFSF parade wearing her beautiful hand-embroidered Kimona made from her hometown Pandi, Bulacan with matching colorful malong.

Run by the MFSF Board of Directors and volunteers chaired by Ley Navarro, this is the first year that the festival expanded to being a two-day event, and also the first year of it being hosted in The Maples after two years of parading in downtown.
Festival’s centre stage featured popular actor Richard Guttierez.
Variety of food, entertainment, street games, movie presentation, girls’ beauty search and other cultural attractions comprised the event.
