The Public Broadcasting Station (PBS) announced this week that it is canceling the long- running kids’ show, “Caillou” in the United States.
The show which has been around for over 20 years was about a four year old boy whose world is filled with fun, learning & imagination and inspires generations of pre-school children to grow,” according to PBS.
Caillou has aired in some 70 countries and clearly appeals to kids, but has also been subject of bashing on social media because of the boy being at times “whiny.”
Despite some backlash, “Caillou has been loved by generations of kids around the world since it first debuted in 1997″, Canadian media company WildBrain told the Canadian Press in a statement. The kids show will continue to be available on Family Jr. channel for Canadian audiences, and in numerous countries around the world.
