BLOG: Cavalia Odysseo: Cool show that will keep the kids watching from start to end

Last night, our nine and seven year old kids were treated to a surprise. They only realized what we’re up to when our car entered the  parking area of  the White Big Top @ Sterling Lyon & Kenaston. “Yay! Are we watching the horse show?”, they gushed.

Like most kids, they are  fascinated with horses. Imagine their excitement when they learned  we will watch Cavalia Odysseo: The Best show Ever.

Cavalia Odysseo puts together  humans and horses  at  a  totally different level of  harmony and performance in one big stage.

Acrobatics, aereal dancing, tumbling and  equestrian action  got the  kids’ undivided attention.

“Realistic and exciting.  I felt at times I was moving with the characters as they move.”   that’s how my daughter described the experience.

I could  only watch in awe how every single  performer perfected his/her craft.  And how magical  the horses  memorize all the sequence.

The change of backdrop scene from nature and  forest and grass to desert to snow with icicles and onto a river is of course amazing.

My son screamed – “Wow!  Is that real water on stage?”

And  yes, imagine a  carousel  on a  scene that is almost like the one you see on your dreams. Impressive also that show entirely uses live music!

Kids were both tired  when we got home at almost 10 in the evening but  couldn’t contain their  amazement — “Best show ever!”  they said.

Cavalia Odysseo is good bonding moment for  families who are animal lovers and are looking for a unique  kind of  entertainment in Winnipeg.

Parental tip though — bring extra snacks for your kids  and take them to  washroom before the start.

Show is  two  and half hours  long (with intermission) which is  way long for  some smaller  kids especially it ends  past bed time.

Produced  by Normand  Latourelle, Cavalia Odysseo runs through June 17 @ Sterling Lyon Parkway and Kenaston Boulevard.

Tickets for kids are available from around 42$ and 62$ and up  depending on seat location, availability of tickets and show dates at or by calling 1-866-999-8111.
