Inatasan ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang lahat ng pangunahing ahensiya ng gobyerno na agad kumilos bunsod ng magnitude 7.8 na lindol na yumanig sa General Santos City at mga kalapit lalawigan.
Sa inilabas na pahayag ng Pangulo, sinabi nitong nakikipag-ugnayan na ang Office of Civil Defense at National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council sa lahat ng mga apektadong lugar at inilunsad na ang disaster response at monitoring.
Inatasan na rin ng Pangulo ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) na magpre-position na ng relief goods upang masigurong handa at operational ang evacuation centers.
Iniutos na rin ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. ang suspensiyon ng klase sa lahat ng antas sa mga apektadong lugar sa Mindanao hanggat sa muling maglabas ng abiso na maari ng pumasok ang mga estudyante.
Sinabi ng Pangulo na isinaalang-alang ang kaligtasan ng mga mag-aaral at makikipag-ugnayan ang Department of Education sa mga local government unit.
Kasabay nito nakiusap ang Pangulo sa mga residente sa lugar na apektado ng malakas na lindol na sumunod sa abiso ng tsunami warning at lumikas agad sa mas mataas na lugar para sa kanilang kaligtasan. (Aileen Taliping)

Nagsumite lamang ng manifestation imbes na reply ang House prosecution panel dahil wala umanong factual issue para tugunan ang “non-answer” ni Vice President Sara Duterte sa Articles of Impeachment.
Isinampa ni House Secretary General Cheloy Garafil ang manifestation kay Senate Secretary General Renato Bantug Jr. ganap na alas-11:15 ng umaga nitong Lunes, Hunyo 8.
Binigyan din ng kopya ang Office of the Vice President at ang law firm Fortun Narvasa & Salazar.
Sa 5 pahinang filing, ipinaliwanag ng prosekusyon na inilahad lamang ng Bise Presidente ang procedural, jurisdictional, at constitutional objections sa Senate impeachment court imbes na ang factual narratives para masuportahan ang kanyang general denial sa mga alegasyon.
“Under the applicable rules, the allegations and defenses in the Answer are deemed controverted even without a Reply,” ayon sa manifestation.
“More fundamentally, the Answer raises no material factual issue that requires a responsive pleading. It does not meaningfully engage the factual allegations in the Articles of Impeachment, but instead concentrates on procedural, jurisdictional, and constitutional objections directed against the continuation of the proceedings,” diin ng prosekusyon.
Nahaharap si Duterte sa apat na articles of impeachment kaugnay ng paglustay umano sa P612.5 mil¬yong confidential funds, bribery, unexplained wealth, at grave threats laban kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, at dating House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez.
Binanggit ng prosekusyon na hindi direktang sinagot ng Bise Presidente ang mga alegasyon o kaya ay nagpaliwanag kung bakit hindi siya maaaring mapanagot sa mga impeachable offenses laban sa kanya.
“This is evident across all four Articles, where respondent repeatedly asserts that she committed no impeachable offense,” ayon manifestation.
“Yes beyond these general denials, the Answer offers no coherent factual narrative that directly refutes the charges set forth in the Articles of Impeachment,” dagdag pa ng prosecution panel. (Billy Begas)
