Other highlights of the day included an interactive African drumming, performances and Ambassador parade. The iconic Philippine king of the road “Jeep ni Vickar” was also an attraction.
A total of 24 cultural pavilions will showcase this year. Unfortunately, the Philippines’ Pearl of the Orient Pavillion will not be up and the public will have to miss the performance of the renowned Magdaragat this year.
“The two-year pandemic has affected group rehearsals but our members will come into full blast rehearsals this fall”, Artistic Director Goldie Garcia earlier told 92.7 FM.
Three of this year’s Folklorama Ambassadors were from the Pearl of the Orient Pavillion and will help in the promotion – Sarahdelle Galera, Adult Ambassador General, Sudan Parke and Nicolas Tamayo, Youth Ambassador General.
Now on its 51st year, Folklorama runs July 31 – August 13, 2022. More information can be found here.
