Elected as Member of Parliament for Winnipeg North-St. Paul in 1988 and served until 2004. Dr. Pagtakhan was also invested into the Order of Manitoba in 2017 for his many contributions to medicine, public and community.
Winnipeg Councilor Brian Mayes (St. Vital) recognized Dr. Pagtakhan for his many contributions in the St Vital area in the field of medicine and where he also served as school trustee. Park dedication was long overdue and was delayed for three years due to poor weather and COVID-19 restrictions.
