The annual colorful festival celebrating Filipino culture, music and food returned last weekend with over a hundred tents of participating organizations that included 92.7 FM CKJS as media partner.
Chester Pangan aired live remote broadcast from the 92.7 FM tent which saw hundreds of listeners flocking down to say hello, had photos and joined in raffle.
The event provided opportunity for face-to-face connection with the listeners after the pandemic and was a perfect time to promote the station’s big move to 92.7 FM since September 2021 after its four decades of airing on 810 AM.
On its 11th year, the Manitoba Filipino Street Festival (MFSF) is the largest Filipino community event in Manitoba with record attendance of thousands in previous years.
The MFSF featured non-stop entertainment of local performers where Chester acted as one of the emcees. There were food trucks, food vendors, cultural displays, Zumba. chess game and a gown competition. Unfortunately, the scheduled fireworks display had to be moved to another date, perhaps Canada Day. because of safety concerns due to weather condition.
