Manitoba’s first fully Filipino musical ‘”Ma-Buhay: A New Musical” takes the centre stage and makes its world premiere last night, June 27th, 2024 in Rainbow Stage.
Featuring all-original music and lyrics from Winnipeg’s Filipino-Canadian Joseph Sevillo, Ma-buhay tells the story of three young Filipinos from different economic backgrounds competing in a reality singing competition. Theatre stars Andrea Macasaet and Maan Dionisio lead the cast.
Ma-buhay features fabulous visual, set and backdrop with live musical direction by Seanne Buenafe and is the first musical every commissioned and developed by Rainbow Stage. It also boasts of a highly energetic dance and music ensemble. The iconic Rainbow stage dome and Canada’s largest open-air theatre Rainbow Stage celebrates 70th Anniversary season this summer with the the world premiere and Mary Poppins,
