The city of Winnipeg officially marks a milestone celebrating 150 years.
Throughout the year, the city will mark the anniversary with a series of community events and celebrations.
Winnipeg Mayor Scott Gilingham told 92.7 FM CKJS that the festivities will start on Friday, Jan 19th as this is the day the city celebrates the anniversary of the first meeting city council meeting.
The official Winnipeg 150 graphic was designed by local artist, Jordan Stranger of Totem Doodem. The logo will appear in prominent locations around the city, including on banners outside City Hall. The City is also working with The Forks Trading Company to make Winnipeg 150 merchandise available for purchase in their storefront and online in the near future.
