Ma-buhay Musical: The Road to Rainvow Stage will be featured in this year’s Winnipeg Fringe Festival.
From July 19, 2023 to July 29, 2023, a 60-minute Workshop Presentation will be featured showcasing the choreography, costumes and digital media for the very first time. There will also be a sneak peek of the play in development with Rainbow Stage as it sings and dances its way to its world premiere.
Ma Buhay provides a platform for new actors in the large Pinoy community in Winnipeg to mainstream musical theatre.
The musical is a brainchild of Filipino-Canadian singer-dancer, theatre professional Joseph Sevillo. The story centers around a televised singing competition in Winnipeg.
The playwright has been reviewed and perfected with a succession of many local talents taking different characters since its inception and is on its way to Rainbow Stage.
Ma-buhay casts include Jerilyn Bulaong, Brady Barrientos, Victoria Exconde, Rochelle Kives, Robin Quintan, Celes Manuel, Dutchess Cayetano, Isabella Galman, Vina Dimayuga, Shauldon Santos, Josh Calabio and Justin Bulaong.
Through the years, the creative and strong team behind Ma-Buhay led by Sevillo has trained a dozen of performers with workshops that honed their skills in singing, dancing and acting.
The presentation will be held at he RMTC Warehouse, 140 Rupert Avenue with the following schedules:

Tickets will also be available from 174 Market Ave 30 minutes before showtime (subject to availability).
Live entertainment featuring hundreds of local talents from more than a hundred theatre companies will will be featured at The Winnipeg Fringe Festival at the cube stage in Old Market Square and other venues around the city where street performers and bands perform daily from noon to midnight.
