Filipino alternative rock band Eraserheads made a stop in Winnipeg June 9, 2023 as part of their “Huling El Bimbo” World Tour.
Around three thousand nolstalgic fanatics screamed their hearts out standing and clapping during the entire straight two-hour show held at the RBC Convention Centre.
“Huling El Bimbo” Live in Winnipeg was produced by Alex Canlapan of ACC Events and Services in partnership with Neda Heating and Cooling with sponosorship of many local businesses.
The epic reunion concert of lead vocalist Ely Buenda, bassist Buddy Zabala, drummer Raimund Marasigan and guitarist Marcus Adoro featured timeless popular hits that included “Superproxy”, “Pare ko”, “Ligaya”, “Maselang Bahaghari” and “Huling El Bimbo”.
Myxz Images helped in stage production while Pinoy Tribe Entertainment did a few leg work during the early promotion of the concert.
The world tour produced by Rising Sun Entertainment kicks off in Las Vegas on May 19 and had schedules in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York.
For the Canada leg of the tour, the concert had a stop in Vancouver before coming to Winnipeg. Edmonton and Toronto.
The band, formed in 1989, became one of the most influential and successful bands in the history of Filipino music.
Although now disbanded after a split in 2002, the fever that is Eraserheads that started in the era of cassette tapes still continuously rocks streaming apps up to these days.
