An audience of 1,500 packed the Calvary Temple on Saturday, April 29 for the Paul Ong’s annual Concert for a Cause with the 70-piece Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra led by conductor Naomi Woo.
A total of $46,564 was raised in the concert which will benefit Sistema Winnipeg, a music program for underprivileged youth.
This is not the first time Paul has performed with the WSO. He has performed with the orchestra for his first Concert for a Cause in 2015. He was also guest performer at the WSO’s annual Community Celebration concert last year and in January’s Lunar New Year Celebration concert.
Members of the Ecolé Garden Grove School choir and Sistema Winnipeg joined Paul in special performances during the show.
Since its inception in 2015, Paul’s annual charity concert has raised over $100,000 and benefited many causes that include Children’s Heritage Fund, Military Family Resource Center , Siloam Mission and Sistema Winnipeg,
