Paul Ong performs with Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra in support of Sistema Winnipeg

Ong has a long history with the WSO, having performed with the orchestra for his first Concert for a Cause in 2015. He’s also been a guest performer at the WSO’s annual Community Celebration concert, last year’s Manitoba Remembers: A COVID Elegy concert, and most recently at this past January’s Lunar New Year Celebration concert. Sistema Winnipeg has also been a recipient of Ong’s fundraising concerts numerous times.

Concert for a Cause has raised over $70,000 for various charities in Manitoba. Proceeds from the yearly concert have been used to support military families, the Children’s Heritage Fund, food and shelter programs, Cancer Care and Sistema Winnipeg.

“Paul’s energy, passion, and dedication to our community are incredible. We are grateful for Sistema Winnipeg to be the beneficiary of the 2023 Concert for a Cause, providing vital funds to help support our program, which is entirely donor, funder, and sponsor supported,” says Brent Johnson, WSO Associate Director, Education & Community. “Paul’s vision and that of Sistema Winnipeg align beautifully, and not only will this concert be a terrific experience for the students in the choir, but these funds will further our mission of social change through music.”

I can’t wait to see everyone on April 29 at 7:00 pm at the Calvary Temple- as we share the important moment of unveiling what we have collectively raised for Sistema Winnipeg.”
