Team Winnipeg basketball stars Lorence de la Cruz and Lance Mangaron made a stop in our 92.7 FM studio today, prior to their trip to the Philippines to represent Canada in the 2023 National Basketball Training Centre (NBTC) Finals, competing against 23 teams in SM Mall of Asia Arena in Manila from March 15-19, 2023. The pride of the Filipino community, the Winnipeg team won the 2022 NBTC Global Games Canada Championships last Summer, July 2022. Lorence was also invtied to represent Canada in the Dunk Competition.
Aside from Lorence and Lance, other team members who will represent Canada include: Mekhi Lisan, Marco Guaring, Kato Jaro, Paul Bocalan, Marc Roxas, Randayle Caparas, Mykel Caparas, Jiro Umali, Noah Castres, Daylan Sagun and Lance Catipon. Going with the team to the Philippines are Coaches Jomar Guaring, David Sagun and Lennin Mangaron; with Commissioner Manny Aranez and Muriel Masangkay.
