Evanov’s 92.7 CKJS FM’s Afternoon Pasada host Lucille Nolasco-Garrido was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal in a ceremony held at the Manitoba Legislative Building Monday.
The medal is the province’s way to pay tribute to the Queen’s compassion and devotion to duty by honoring citizens across Manitoba who also make service to their communities a priority.
Also a columnist for Pilipino Express news magazine, Lucille is an active Pinays Manitoba, Inc. member and currently serves as Secretary of Pinays Board of Directors. She is also a long-time member of the Bulacan Association of Winnipeg. Lucille is a graduate of University of Sto. Tomas and majored in Communication Arts. Born and raised in Pandi, Bulacan, prior to immigrating to Canada in 2000, Lucille served as a writer, researcher and associate producer for ABS-CBN News and Public Affairs Department.
The Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal (Manitoba) celebrates the 70th anniversary year of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne. A total of 1,000 medals will be awarded at ceremonies held throughout the province during the Platinum Jubilee year.
