Santa Claus Parade lights up the city this weekend

Winnipeggers  bundled  up for the 2017 Santa Claus Parade last Satuday — which is  its  108th year!

A  larger crowd compared to other years came expectedly  estimated at   60,000 people.

Parade manager Monica Derksen said  they also expected  for  up to 15,000 people who attended  the  Winnipeg Jets game at Bell MTS Place who  could become  spectators at the parade.

The 2017 parade has 70 floats and 700 volunteers with festivities beginning  with a Camerata Nova concert at Manitoba Hydro Place and  block parties with different themes.

CKJS Radio 810 AM  joined  HOT 100.5 and Energy 106  as we  kicked  off the parade with a   fun  party at  Portage and Main.

Thank you to all who came down and joined us for the pre-parade fun.

Shout out to our  hardworking  promo team at Evanov Radio.  CKJS Radio  would  also  like to give a shout out to our friends from   Little Pizza Heaven, Tim Hortons, Exhale Dance Studio, Kildonan Place, Waverly Chrysler, Len Dubois Trucking, David’s Tea House and Grant Park Shopping Centre for making the pre-parade event warmer and fun!
