
Manitoba’s largest and longest-running multicultural festival of its kind in the world– FOLKLORAMA is here once again!
Every summer, audience are given a treat to explore and experience world’s cultures through this two-week event that began in 1970.
Folklorama showcases world-class entertainment in 40 volunteer-run pavilions showing unique cultures in venues throughout Winnipeg. Each pavillion provides lively entertainment in the form of dance, song, theatre or instruments. Most of the pavillion provide teachings and history through cultural displays and take pride in showing off their authentic ethnic cuisine.
This year, event is happening from August 5 to 18, 2018.
Official kick off takes place this Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 3 to 9 PM @ the Lyric Theatre, Assiniboine Park.
Brought by The Casinos of Winnipeg, the free for all event will compose of interactive workshops, performances and demonstrations, activities for kids, pavilion expo and market.

SIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF HOME: PEARL OF THE ORIENT PAVILLION\
“Come and enjoy Filipino hospitality – arrive as a guest and leave as a friend!”, thus the slogan of the Pearl of the Orient Pavillion which brings on stage the colorful culture of the Philippines and its rich heritage and tradition through outstanding performance of Magdaraga Philippines, Inc.
Through the years, members of this well-travelled and internationally-recognized dance troupe continues to amaze the audience with their powerful and lovely performance with the help of the creative team led by Goldie Garcia and Gil Buenaventura.
A cultural display and an array of Filipino cuisine complete the showcase.

Pearl of the Orient Philippine Pavilion will run on the second week between August 12 to August 18 @ Petrus Hall | 2624 Inkster Blvd. (Located @ Brookside & Inkster) Downtown.
This year’s pavilion coordinators are Jon Omaga and Emiliano Galera. Adult Ambassadors are Cecilia Berces and Ruby Adriosula while the Youth Ambassadors:Skylar Jeppesen are Mirella Aiello.
