Summer in Manitoba is made extra colorful through the showcase of different cultures and array of food and delicacies.
On its, 48th year, Folklorama, the largest and longest-running multicultural festival of its kind in the world continues to sizzle running from August 6 – 19, 2017.
It features 40-plus pavilions in its two weeks of festivities.
PEARL OF THE ORIENT PHILIPPINE PAVILLION
Visit the Pearl of the Orient Philippine Pavilion on Week 1 of Folklorama from Sunday, August 6 – Saturday, August 12, 2017 at R.B. Russell School | 364 Dufferin Ave. (Located @ Salter & Dufferin).
Magdaragat Philippines Inc. (The Voyagers of the Seas) will lead you to a journey of sights and sounds of the Philippine Islands and let you discover rich heritage through their colorful folk dances.
Each year, Ambassadors General were chosen from among the many pavillion ambassadors to embody Folklorama’s mission of celebrating diversity and promoting cultural understanding. This year they are as follows: Sheryl Vasquez, 2017 Adult Female Ambassador General (Pearl of the Orient Philippine Pavilion); Philippe Mailhot, 2017 Adult Male Ambassador General (pavillon canadien-français); Kelsey Omaga, 2017 Youth Female Ambassador General (Pearl of the Orient Philippine Pavilion); Noah Lieberman, 2017 Youth Male Ambassador General (Israel Pavilion – Shalom Square).
For 2018, Pearl of the Orient Philippine Pavilion won 3 out of 4 ambassador generals for Folklorama 2018. Vina Dimayuga youth ambassador general and Joseph Orobia and Aileen Madden both adult ambassador made it with flying colors.

Children 12 and under are FREE when accompanied by an adult (limit of five per adult). Single admission tickets are available at the entrance of each pavilion at 6$ per pavillion for adult, senior and youth.
